Cronquist House Rental Procedure

The Cronquist House booking deposit is $100.00 and must be paid when booking is made. The booking fee ensures the booking date is confirmed.

  1. On receipt of the booking deposit the RDCHS will issue an invoice and receipt.
  2. Cancellation of the booking less than 90 days before date booked will result in the loss of the booking deposit.
  3. The RDCHS reserves the right to refuse a booking deemed not suitable.
  4. The Cronquist House staff will open the doors at the time stipulated on contract, familiarize renters with the facility, ensure any requested set-up is in place, and will remain until the Renter departs. Booking deposit will be returned only with return of the checklist signed by the staff. 
  5. An email will be sent to you a week before your event with a link to pay the balance.
  6. If problems are encountered please call the Manager 403-318-9316.

Conditions of Cronquist House Rental 

 

The following conditions outline the responsibilities of the Renter for ALL events.

  1.  Respect towards the building and furniture is expected at all times. 
  2. The Renter shall be responsible for the control and behaviour of the patrons and guests.
  3. The Renter shall be financially and legally responsible for compensating the RDCHS for any damages that have been caused by patrons or guests at the function.
  4. The Red Deer Cultural Heritage Society (Cronquist House) will not be held responsible for injury, theft, etc., suffered by or caused by the patrons.
  5. No open flame candles are permitted. This is in accordance with Fire Regulations, NO EXCEPTIONS!
  6. The Renter and their guests are not to venture above the second floor, in accordance with fire regulations. 
  7. Absolutely NO decorations shall be taped to or pinned to the walls or the back of chairs. 
    Please use only the hooks and nails already in the walls. 
  8. The House is a gum free facility-- any found on floors is a billable expense for cleaning cost.
  9. The Renter shall be responsible for setting up and returning all chairs and tables to their original location, unless otherwise contracted. 
  10. The Renter agrees to remove ALL personal property from the House by the end time specified on the rental agreement.
  11. Cleanup is the responsibility of Renter, unless otherwise contracted.  Please use Cronquist House Cleaning Check List, sign and return to the Cronquist House staff.
  12. Take down must be done by the end time specified on the rental agreement, unless prior arrangements are made. 
  13. The Renter agrees to report to the RDCHS any problems or damages relating to the event.

Cronquist House Check List

This list outlines the expectations for cleaning following an event at the Cronquist House.

  1. Mop any spills as they happen. Brooms and mops located in tall butler's pantry cupboard.
  2. Remove everything that you have brought e.g. food, dishes, pots and pans, decorations, etc.
  3. Pick up garbage, inside and outside. Garbage bags are located on the kitchen utility cart. 
  4. Take all garbage bags outside to the black cart behind the back door.
  5. Tidy bathrooms. 
  6. Sweep Floor.
  7. Wipe countertops and any other surfaces used. Cleaning supplies located under kitchen sink.  
  8. Report any damages and provide feedback to the caretaker.

Dining Room

The main floor of the Cronquist House consists of two connected dining rooms.

  

Dining/Living Room

Furnished:  10 tables covered with lace table cloths 

Holds approx  40 people

 

Second Floor

The second floor of the Cronquist House consists of two rental rooms, a public archive room, a bathroom and a private office.

  
Upstairs Salon

Furnished: Two couches, two armchairs, one side table, one coffee table

Holds approx 9 people

Library

Furnished: One armchair, one desk, one table with six chairs

Holds approx 8 people
